Spectacular Openings for BOG

Beijing Olympic's Games was lauching on 2008.08.08. 8.08pm., with all "8" representing lucky (fat) in the chinese culture.

Zaza, me, jiyan and giatwentz purposely went down to the Malay stalls to wait for this very moment, the proud of the whole chinese population. I am totally proud of being a chinese, filled with long & great culture. The whole opening ceremony of Beijing's Olympic Games was talking about the main chinese traditions and cultures and presenting a dramatic display of fireworks, music and dancing. The spectacular drum playing by estimated more than 1000 performers, drawings traditional chinese calligraphy with dancing and by childrens......Everything was a surprise for the world and it was so amazing. China,i really SALUTE you!!~~~ It's you that showed to the world that chinese is the best of the world, the fact that lefting behind english men was no more a reality.

The Fuwa (formerly friendliness,Chinese: 福娃; literally “Good-luck dolls”) are the mascots of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Checking from the official webside of Beijing's Olympic Games, just found out that these five mascots were specially presents value of friendship and love to children from all around the world. The Fuwa consists of five members according to the traditional five elements: Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini. Each of the five names is designed to look like a plausible name for a small child, but when put together, they sound nearly identical to the phrase “北京欢迎你” which means “Beijing welcomes you”. Each of the five figures also represents one of the five Olympic Rings.

Not only that, when looks at the mascots carefully, Bei Bei symbolizes fish represents "surplus" in chinese (called 餘 ); JingJing symbolize an endangered species panda represents human mankind to the nature; HuanHuan, the olympic fire represents fire from the Buddhist Mogao Grottes; YingYing represents the Tibetan antelope; whereas NiNi represents Yanjing (燕京), an old name for Beijing.






The Slogan "One world one dream" is very well-chosen as the human needs to gather together for the sake of everyone's peace and love purposes.
